There was constant speculation and concern about what this land may become with numerous residential developers making offers in the $45 to $55 million range.
One of the issues among quite a few potential problems with future uses, is the landfill which is immediately nearby. It reached near capacity levels in the recent past and Manatee county funded a life extension of approximately 30 years but that timeline seems to have quickly shortened with the steady stream of new homes, apartments and commercial on the East end of the world. Many warm evenings you can smell the pungent organic waters that surround the landfill for miles away.
The property located at the intersection of SR-64 and I-75 which has long been vacant land (save for paintball adventures) is now moving towards its future of a medical campus starting with emergency services.
This use and owner bodes well for the area.
