YouTube users streamed over 700 million hours worth of podcasts from their living rooms in October, as the Google-owned steaming giant continues to lure audiences and ad dollars away from traditional TV, Bloomberg reports.
The video provider’s enhanced search functions and discovery tools have helped drive its podcast dominance amid stiff competition from rivals Netflix, Spotify and Meta’s Instagram. Earlier this week, Netflix announced a partnership with iHeartMedia centered around video podcasting, and Instagram launched a new dedicated TV app.
