Legacy Trail Extension fundraising drive to add 8 miles (including Downtown Sarasota)

DO YOU WANT TO ADD 8 MORE MILES TO THE LEGACY TRAIL?

THE STORY:
Do you want to be able to ride the trail in to downtown Sarasota?

Do you want to be able to ride the trail from downtown Sarasota in to Gulf Gate and Venice?

Do you think having a 20 mile trail is good for our community?

If you answered YES to these questions then we need your help. We need two things:

In August 2013, the Sarasota County Commissioners authorized Public Works to spend $75,000 on an initial study for the expansion of the trail. The study will cost just over $150,000, and the County is looking to Legacy Trail supporters for the additional funds. We need YOUR help to raise the additional dollars and get the project started.

The study will take about 6 months to complete. After that we will work to get the project “shovel ready.” Once the project is ready to go we will be able to ask for State and Federal funds to build the trail.
