Fantasy Football Week 7 Recap & The Sixth Sense.

“I see Dead Fantasy Football teams”

Recap of the predictions…
in order of largest scoring winner & game to least…

Longhorn Ironman – 138 Submission – 119 Whew! Even with Roddy White’s stellar 42 pt performance, the Eli Manning Fest was off the hook and if Felix Jones had done anything at all on Monday night, this may have ended differently, but alas, another consistent effort from Dreznin leaves them alone on top of SRQ 2010 at 5-2 and the future is so bright, their gonna have to wear shades! Everyone brought a solid performance to the matchup with White (42), Brees (19) & stalwart Gore (17). Even Favre would have GONE OFF if V-Shaincoe’s TD wasn’t overturned and Harvin’s TD wasn’t overturned either, although he obviously stepped out of bounds. Anyhow, for Submission, the other Manning did work (33) & All Day Peterson (25) & the Skins’ D (25) gave them hope until the final whistle blew Monday night. Submission looks strong heading towards the future at 4-3, and they should be ready to battle next week.

PREDICTION = Longhorn -125 Submission – 117 NICE!

Rooster – 126 Chipmunks – 91 Well, well, well. We couldn’t have been more wrong on this matchup, but who could have seen Carson “I’m old enough to be your grandpappy” Palmer doing work for 39 pts. Last minute pick up Kerry Collins went nuts for 22 pts and add in a little paprika in Hines Ward (23) & Jamaal Charles better half, TJ (20) and you’ve got yourself a fantasy upset! Chipmunks needed to win this to stay at the forefront of the playoff push by the rest of the league as some early bottom dwellers have started to rise like sourdough yeast! They had solid performances from “Somewhere over the” Dwayne Bowe (22) & T.O. (16), but anytime the Defense (18) and the kicker (15) are leaders in FF pts or close to the leader, then its a red flag. Poor performances from D-Nabb (8) and Max Hall (NEGATIVE 5) and the unpredictability of Ray Rice and Mendenhall at Work are crippling this team. They get Schaubby back next week and Calvin Johnson & Jahvid Best so things may be looking up! (2-5) As for Rooster, they just keep on trucking (4-3) and in prime position with some key pickups through the season to move into a strong position for the playoff push. We likey Rooster!
PREDICTION – Chipmunk – 108 Rooster – 90…. Not so much!

BENbowski – 109 Motorboating – 101 “What the Martz?” <—- Borrowed from Bill Simmons of ESPN. Motorboating was a HUGE favorite in this matchup… I mean large. Fitzpatrick scored 39 pts, brandon jacobs went for 11 and even the packers D got 16 big ones…all on the bench. Meanwhile DeAngelo disappointed again with 3 pts, the steelers D went for 7 and Tom Brady scored 8 pts. Oy. Don't jump to conclusions though, BENbowski did everything in their power to lose this game! Thank the heavens for Roethlisberger as Orton seems to have sprung a leak, even down by 38 points at halftime against the Oakland Raiders, Orton goes for (13). Matt Ryan for (27) and Hakeem Nicks (26) on the bench, but alas, BENbowski gets the "W" through Knowshon (20), Big Ben & Seahawks D (17). Motorboating leaves licking its wounds at 4-3 and unsure about its future as its on shaky ground whereas BENbowski has resurrected its season and sits at 3-4, but feels Solid about its future as do we!

PREDICTION – Motorboating – 124 Benbowski – 86 WTM?

Malcolm – 106 Team RC – 79 Yikes! LeSean lives! 11 points, but his team of dwelling lives to fight another day! Needing a win in the worst way, LeSean and his band of merry misfits rises to the challenge. Led by OchoCinco (22) & Aaron Rodgers (20) & the Titans D (16) this team slogged its way to a win… Surprisingly happy to avoid benchwarmer Darren McFadden and his 4 TD’s, who scored (47 pts) which I believe is the highest point total for an individual this season! There are some cracks in the seams of Malcolm who lost improving Alex Smith to a sprained AC joint, so Sanchez to the rescue! Both teams now reside at 3-4 and we are perplexed by the rollercoaster ride of Team RC. Kitna as a $42 pickup, Henne & Garrard all scheduled to play this week. Kolb relegated back to backup duty behind Vick, although on a bye anyhow. Gonna be an interesting immediate future for both of these teams as wins are needed promptly.

PREDICTION – Malcolm – 89 RC – 87 He shoots, he scores!

Team EV’s All-Stars – 91 ROmo & Juliet – 68 When the wheels fall off, they come a flying off! The sight of Romo splayed out on Dallas homefield after being driven into the turf was hard to watch, not only for cowboys fans, but for Paulie and his championship dreams. His 2 Superstar QB juggernaut just nose-dived into Fantasy Football obscurity and became a story of misery that he will tell his grandchildren one day and they won’t care. Good for nothing grandkids! Grumble, grumble. This matchup was fantastic from the standpoint that EV’s starters scored 91 points while the bench scored 90 points! For Paulie and R & J, the starters scored 68 points while the bench scored 73 pts, so in theory some different decisions may have led to many different outcomes, but the sobering moment of the season, which was Ryan Grant’s injury is now so much, Tony Romo laid out clutching at his limp shoulder. R & J is 4-3 but on a downward slide, with Colt McCoy as the new starter for now, Ryan Matthews a flailing disappointment, and miles austin slumping it looks like an uphill battle. EV’s team on the other hand, has got some players popping. I think it might finally be time to move on from the Jay Cutler experiment as he has amassed (NEGATIVE 3 points over his past 4 games) although to be fair, he was out for a game with a concussion, so he has that extra rest going for him. Mike Martz is going to kill Jay Cutler. Cedric Benson is soooo a bummer and defenses may have caught on to Brandon Lloyd, but we’ll have to see what happens in the near future. So EV’s at 3-4 have some fight in the dog and look to continue the momentum next week!

UPSET PREDICTION – EV – 103 R & J – 99 OH YEAH, OH YEAH, Teeee Shirt Tiiiiiiime!

Predictions & Prognostications to come later this week. As for now, I am going to enjoy my King of the Mountain status as I remind myself that most kingdoms and kings have short reigns and history tells us that they are usually conquered, so I think for now, modesty is a good attribute! For Now. Muah!!!
